- Submit Form 1 with required documents: This includes details of the applicant and representations of the design.
- Pay the government fee: Fee varies based on applicant type (individual/startup or company).
- Provide drawings or photographs: Submit multiple views of the design (front, back, side, top, etc.).
- Include a statement of novelty: Clearly mention the new features claimed in the design.
- Power of attorney (if filed through an agent): Required if an authorised agent is filing on behalf of the applicant.
- Priority document (for Reciprocity Application): Needed if the application claims priority from an earlier foreign filing.
